Introduction: This guide describes how to delete a client from Docupace.

Tip

Tip: Deleting a client is best done only if you made a mistake or if they were a prospect that never actually became a client. A good alternative to deleting a client is making them inactive in the system instead.

Note: In order to remove this client, you must first remove any children that are related to the clientrecords associated with the Client Folder.

The best way is to retrieve your client by clicking on the Add/Manage Client Folders tile on the Home page..

Locate the client you would like to remove and click into the client.

Remove any related individuals (such as spouses or beneficiaries).

Tip

Tip: If the client is related to other individuals, it would be best practice to make the client inactive instead of deleting them.

Click into the subfolder to view the documents.

Note: If the subfolder does have documents associated to it, you'll need to move or delete the documents prior to removing the subfolder.

Hover over each document and click the trash icon.

Note

Warning: Once the document is deleted from the system, it cannot be retrieved..

Note: In general, documents cannot be deleted if they are over 30 days old. Instead, you will need to move the documents to another folder.

Tip

Tip: Moving the documents to a trash client allows you to retrieve historical records if needed.

Delete the subfolder.

Rw step

After the subfolder has been deleted, you'll be brought back to your Client Folders screen.

Repeat steps 5-7 until you have removed all subfolders from the client.

Hover over your client and click Delete.

Click Okay Ok.
