This guide explains how to add your DocuSign credentials to Docupace. You will need to configure the App Password Key for SOAP. Once you complete this task, signees will see your name in the subject line when DocuSign sends notification emails.

What is an “App

Password

Key?”

An App PasswordKey is a second password to your DocuSign account that is used exclusively for integrations with other sites. It is different from the DocuSign portal password that you use to log into the DocuSign website. Currently, applications like Docupace can integrate with your DocuSign account by using your DocuSign Username (email) and your DocuSign portal password. Or, by using only your DocuSign Username without a password by using an elevated admin account. This is referred to as the “Send on Behalf of” (SOBO) configuration. DocuSign is retiring and replacing both these methods with the App PasswordKey.

Note: A person cannot log into the DocuSign web portal using an App PasswordKey. This password can only be used by integrated systems.

How to Configure Your App

Key

You must log into DocuSign and generate an “App Password” Key” to continue using your DocuSign-Docupace integration. You must copy this password into your user configuration on the Docupace site. Here are the steps to follow:

Log into the DocuSign Account Portal.

Tip

Tip: If you do not know your password, put in your email address and select NEXT. The “Reset password” link is on the next page.

In DocuSign, click the icon with your initials in the top right corner and click Manage Profile.

Open the Privacy & Security section in the left navigation panel (1), locate the Additional Security section (2), and click GENERATE APP PASSWORD (3).

In the Generate App Password dialog add a Custom Name (1) for the new password and click the GENERATE APP PASSWORD (2) button.

Tip

Tip: We recommend using Docupace as the Custom Name.

Copy the generated App Password Key (1) and record it in a secure place. It will only be displayed once! Then click GOT IT (2) to return to your profile page.

Log into Docupace. Click your user name (1) in the upper-right corner of the page, then click Settings (2).

Locate the eSign Credentials section and click DocuSign (1).

In the Details section:

  1. Enter your DocuSign User ID (1), if the field is blank. It is your email address.

  2. Paste the App Password Key from Step 4 5 into the DocuSign Password field (2).

  3. (Optional) Enter the DocuSign Account ID (3) if you are using your personal DocuSign account. This ID has the format XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX.

Click Save and Close (4) in the top toolbar. You should now be able to use DocuSign as usual.
