Widget Details Window

The Widget details window has three panels:

Details

General widget properties, such as Name, Description, Status, etc.

Widget Revision

(appears once the widget is saved)

A list of edits made to the widget. The list shows which user changed the widget and when, as well as the additional Widget Revision Comment, if such was specified.

Widget Configuration

(appears once the widget is saved)

A panel that shows a fully functional preview of the widget, if available. You may test how the widget works in this panel. Click on the Widget configuration cogwheel icon to open the Docupace Start window.

There are the following action buttons in the toolbar at the top of the screen:

Previous

Open the previous widget in the Widgets list.

Next

Open the next widget in the Widgets list.

Save

Save all changes made to the widget.

Save and Close

Save all changes made to the widget and return to the previous screen.

Cancel

Return to the previous screen without saving any changes made to the widget. There is no confirmation message. All unsaved changes will be lost.

Widget Details Panel

The Details panel for a widget has the following fields:

Name  

Users will not see this name; it is for internal reference only. Name it in a way that can be recognized by your co-workers for its function. 

Version 

Identifies how many versions of this widget have been created. 

Description 

A more in-detail description of the widget, used for internal reference.

Status  

This field defines whether the widget is finalized for use in client environments. 

The status does not affect the functionality of the widget, but may be used to filter and recognize incomplete widgets. 

Options: Approved, Not Approved 

Widget Type 

This attribute currently is not used. 

Widget Title 

This is the name that is displayed to the user. Call the widget based on the function that it will fulfill to the end-user on the client-side.

For example, New Client Account Opening. 

Reason for Adding/Changing

Used by developers when changing a major version number or when copying the widget from one environment to the next. Can list the issue ticket, due to which the change was made.

Widget Revision Comment

Every time a widget is saved a revision comment may be added by the developer. Used to describe minor edits to the widget.

Widget Key

A unique identificator that marks this widget and its version. Used, when calling the widget to be shown in an interface or to be opened in a pop-up dialog.

Widget Revision panel shows a list of edits made to the widget. The list shows which user changed the widget and when, as well as the additional Widget Revision Comment, if such was specified.

There are the following buttons in the pop-up toolbar when you hover over an entry:

Details

Opens the previous revision of the widget as it was at that time. In the visualisation panel you can see, what the widget looked like and test how it worked.

Note. A message appears warning the user, that this is not the most current version of the widget: “Warning, you are viewing historic revision of this widget. Any changes will not be saved. If you want to use this revision, then Restore this Revision.“

Compare with Current

Compare two revisions of the widget to see what changes have been made.

Comparison is done on JSON code with new code highlighted green and changed code highlighted red.

From the Compare Widget Revisions screen you can restore a previous revision of the widget.
