Product Activation on the AnnuityNet Platform

In addition to the Production platform, EbixExchange provides each distributor with two other platforms to test code and product changes. These test platforms are designed to emulate the user experience for the various job functions at the typical distributor. In order for a new product to be available on any of a distributor's platforms following the successful upload and deployment of the product, the product will need to be turned ON in UAT, ProdSim, or Production. These can be done in one of two ways.

Automatic Product Activation

Distributors can elect to turn on AN4's Automatic Product Activation functionality. This is a configuration option that will automatically turn products ON as they become uploaded and deployed on the platform. There is no further action needed on the part of the distributors to make this product available on their platforms. Distributors can select this option when launching on AN4 for the first time or, if they are already past the initial implementation phase, by submitting a Work Request to their EbixExchange Project Manager. Automatic Product Activation is managed separately on each environment. This means that distributors can opt to have this functionality turned ON in UAT, ProdSim, Production, or any combination of the three environments. Distributors utilizing EbixExchange's correspondent platform structure will be able to configure each correspondent separately.

Turning Products ON Manually

If a distributor chooses not to utilize AN4's Automatic Product Activation functionality, they will have to turn the products ON manually. This step will only need to be done the first time a PPfA is deployed for a new product. If a PPfA for the product had previously been uploaded, was successfully deployed, and had been turned ON, you will not need to reactivate the product each time a PPfA revision is submitted for the product.

To turn a product ON or OFF in UAT, ProdSim, or Production, complete the following steps:
