An electronic envelope, created when new documents are added to the Docupace system during one particular transaction. Each Work Item is identifiable by a unique ID number. Work Items carry work from the field to the back office (and back to the field again, if necessary). They are the primary drivers of the workflow. They may contain one or several documents relevant to the same transaction.
