A menu item, in the Docupace administration sense, is an UI object used for running a predefined action. For example, it may launch an interface that contains a specific widget, or it may simply open an URL hyperlink. Once it is created, it can be displayed almost anywhere in the system as a top-level menu, as a menu item under a drop-down menu, as a link in a table column, or as a button. Depending on the system configuration, it can open another screen, unrelated to the current one, or perform actions on the previously selected items.
