Create a Retention Rule as described in the Creating New Retention Rules section of this guide.

Set the Automatically add to Shredding Batch when Rule Expires field to Yes.

Click Save to save the rule configuration.

Tip

Done! When the rule Duration expires, the system will automatically create a new Shredding Batch and add documents with this rule to it.

Note: If necessary, you may You can also manually place additional documents into Shredding Batches.

Configuring Additional Site Settings for Automatic Shredding

There are three Three Application Preferences that control automatic shredding for your Docupace site.:

  • Automatically generate shredding batch - controls whether batches must always be created manually

  • Shredding batch name format - date format for the name of the batch

  • Max shredding batch size - the number of documents allowed in each shredding batch

Administrators with access to the Application Preferences (242) domain can change these settings:
