Types of Lookup Tables

Lookup tables configure how to load files, how to generate commissions, overrides, payouts, how to create alerts, etc. The majority of these tables can be assigned to one of the three categories:

  • data import

  • commission related

  • alert related.

They show how to insert the records into the system when leveraging these grids.

Data Import Lookup Tables

All these tables define how to import files and how to use these grids for specific tasks.

Example: DST is an important carrier. It's a data source and the grids determine what to load, and how to load. Open the DSTTransaction. These grid parameters (Record Code, Share Indicator, Transaction Code) help to define the right trade operation.

All these tables are related to commissions. The most used are CommissionLicenseRequirementGrid, CommissionOverrideGgrid, CommissionProductionPayoutBreakpointGrid, CommissionTakingChargeGrid.

Tables used for Commission Production payouts with different grades. Every Rep has a different payoff. For this purpose, a set of grids is created.

Example: If the Rep has a grade of 90%, he gets paid 90% of their gross commission.

All these tables are related to the alerts. Alerts are created for surveillance purposes. You can define the criteria to trigger the alert.

Examples: Alert Lookup - Net Worth Rules, Alert Lookup - Age Rules, Approval assignment table.

Other Lookup Tables

Tables of type 'TransactionOnHold'

When loading records, they get loaded with a hold flag, because when running commissions, you don't want to process those yet. Until you know that you want to pay the reps until you got paid by the carrier. When loading the record, they get loaded with the hold flag because when running commissions, you don't want to process those until you know that you want to pay the rep. Therefore:

  1. Put certain trade records on hold (set them an on-hold flag) - select DSTTransactionOnHold in the example.

  2. Analyze different data sources and accept correct transactions.

  3. Remove the on-hold flag.

Use the default tab for the transaction to put it on hold.

Exporting and Importing

To export a file, select the table row and click EXPORT. You can choose to export the information as a CSV or XLS file.
