Create a work item with that form and open the form from within the request.

Select the field to work on – in this case, SSN (which is required)

Select Field to Validate

Right-click to select Inspect Element and copy the field name

Go to Administration > List Management > Validations and create a new validation based on these requirements

Go to Administration > List Management > Validation Set create a new validation set for this specific form. Make sure you identify the exact form name in the Validation Set Conditions field.

Go to Administration > List Management > Transition Validations and create a record as such: This example is set to activate when a user saves the file.

You are ready to test the form. Make sure the field is blank and select save. If the validation was set correctly, you will see something similar to the example on the right.

Update the field and click Save. If you are allowed to complete the save, your validation has been correctly configured and the validation will disappear.
