Building Validations Glossary
There are five important items required / steps to be completed when creating a form validation:
Form Name
The form that the validation applies to.
Field Name
The field on the form that the validation is applied to.
Validation
an SQL statement that results in a true or false. If true, the Field Name is considered IGO (In Good Order). If false, the Field Name is marked NIGO and the Advisor must address the Field Name before proceeding with the form.
Validation Set
A group of validations that apply to specific forms or form types.
Transition Validation
Validations that must be met in order for the work item to proceed to the next step within the workflow.
