Tip: Certified users can request the in-depth guide from Support.

What is it?

The Deployment Tool allows authorized users to compare two Docupace sites to view configuration differences. If they have access, that user can also deploy (or copy) the changes from one site to another.

The Deployment Tool only identifies configuration changes. To deploy code changes, users will need to reach out to Docupace Support or their Customer Success Manager.

We recommend that only users who have completed the certification process attempt to use the Deployment tool. Reach out to your support manager to begin the certification process.

The Deployment Tool may cause problems in your site if used incorrectly. This can include (but is not limited to) lost data, project delays, and/or financial ramifications.

Prerequisites

Users must meet the following prerequisites before they may run configuration deployments on their own.

  • Complete Bootcamps 101 and 201*.

  • Complete the Deployment Tool lessons (1-5) in the Docupace LMS.

  • Pass a multiple-choice certification test.

  • Run 2 successful deployments in nonproduction environments, aided by your Support Manager.

  • Sign and return a Master Service Agreement (MSA) addendum.

*preferably within the most recent calendar year

Before Running a Deployment

Before running a deployment, there are two things you need to do every time:

  • Enter a Reason for Adding/Changing when selecting your deployment options. This will automatically populate that field in all records affected by the Deployment.

  • Notify your Support and/or Customer Success Manager to ensure that your deployment will not override any in-progress work on your site.

Best Practices

Follow these tips and tricks to ensure a successful deployment.
